Consider the following about the Sagarmala Programme: I. Seeks port-led economic growth through cost-effective coastal infrastructure. II. Success reflected in growth in coastal/inland waterway shipping and improved global port rankings. III. Sagarmala 2.0 aims to position India as a global maritime innovation hub aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047. Which relationships are correct? 1. Statement II validates Statement I's strategies. 2. Statement III extends Statement I into a future-oriented framework. 3. Statement I contradicts Statement III.

Accepted Answer

Relationship 1 is correct — Statement II (118% growth in coastal shipping, 700% surge in inland waterway cargo, 9 Indian ports in global top 100) validates the strategies in Statement I. Relationship 2 is correct — Sagarmala 2.0 (smart ports, green shipping, maritime innovation) is an evolutionary extension of Statement I's foundational infrastructure goals. Relationship 3 is incorrect — I and III are complementary, not contradictory.
