Question

Which one of the following best describes the key objective of India's Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) initiative?

Accepted Answer

ONDC democratizes digital commerce by shifting from a closed, platform-centric model (dominated by a few large players) to an open, interoperable network. This creates a level playing field for small businesses, local retailers, and MSMEs. It does not mandate government control, replace private players, or mandate UPI payments.
